A journey of 2000 miles starts like this... Here is how I got my Mini to California. The amazing part was that I was able to buy the trailer, tow all I needed in it, and sell it in California at a $200 profit the day after I arrived! |

What you can't see is just how much weight is under that wood. It still wasn't enough, though, and we had to shift gas bottles, heads, wheels, etc. all forward in an attempt to lighten the rear and prevent fish-tailing of the trailer. |

All of our household goods went on this truck. I flew back to Houston, spent the weekend packing, and Allied loaded it all up. It's not an ordeal I want to relive in the near future. |

The skill our driver had was impressive. He backed that giant trailer down the street to get out of our neighborhood. We were VERY pleased with the Allied crew, in general! |

Gorgeous mesas were to be found all along the route through New Mexico and Arizona's eastern half. |

Hoover Dam, in 109 degree heat. I was glad we'd taken this route, as I'd never seen Hoover. It's quite an impressive area! Not a place I'd want to live, but impressive! |

Apparently, due to potential terrorist targeting, the road will eventually be moved high and away from the dam. Here, you see the footing of a support in the side of the mountain. |

Lake Mead, after crossing the Dam. The area is an interesting mix of high-dollar condos, water recreation, and desert. |

The gentlemanly Lee, towing my Mini on the trailer he built for his tractor. It's an impressive trailer, and I was surprised at the built it himself! It looked like a production model to me! |

Trying to simultaneously drive and take pictures on a bumpy road does not a good quality photo make! |
