Unmolested Intake

One big, beautiful intake port, not in need of much work. Just a slightly sharp corner at the top that the fuel will need to negociate along the top (short side).

Insert Lip

Here you can see where I've ground some of the insert away to more smoothly match the original exhaust port.

Reasoning

This area smoothly transitioning to the exhaust port ensures that there will be no eddies in the exhaust flow that will cause virtual restrictions, further reducing volumetric efficiency.

Intake Work

Looking back on this, I'm not so sure that removing the sharp edges on the intake side was such a good idea. Making the intake smoother could affect turbulence of the air/fuel mixture, smoothing it out and robbing myself of horsepower...

Intake

This shot is looking through the intake runner, and at the valve guides on cylinders 1 and 2. Note the mismatch on the knife-edge between the sides. I have found this whole casting to be of very poor quality, and it shows throughout the head. However, the design of the head overall is a great improvement over the original Metro heads.

Exhaust

Again, you see the mis-match on the knife-edge, this time between the exhaust runners between cylinders 2 and 3.
