I started to clean up the welds that the previous owner added, before taking any pictures.

This is the lefthand side of the car on the rear seam, same as the previous shot, just lower down.

Thankfully, he never got around to welding up much of the right hand side of the car.

At some point one of the owners decided to add 5 1/4" speakers to the rear deck of this car. Since we are going for an original look on this car, we decided to cut out and replace the sheet metal. |

|
|
In this shot you can see how hot the metal got when it was welded on the inside. The sheet metal rippled as the welds cooled, causing peaks and valleys. They are particularly visible in this shot since the sander was only taking paint off the peaks. |

Here you can see where the welder blew through the sheet metal. I am not sure why they did not fill in the blow-outs right away, but I was able to complete the work in short order. |

Looking at the seam from the top.

Patched in rear parcel shelf. Note the blue paint.

Hmm... I wonder where the donor material came from...?

Rusted-through holes, taken care of with welding and grinding.

We got a little too much heat here, and the area bulges outward ever so slightly. It will be fixed prior to painting. |

|
Just a small bit of welding here.
